Shh! Sheffield Hardware Hackers and Makers
Monday, April 18, 2011 from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM (BST)
Sheffield, United Kingdom
Spawned from the union of RepRap Makers and the Shacknet Arduino Hackers comes Sheffield Hardware Hackers ... Shh! Makers ... electronics and hardware maker geeks under one roof.
This month we're delighted to have a full array of electronic goodness:
Chris Martin (aka @sspog on Twitter) will show'n'tell some of the Physical Computing projects from the course run at the University of Dundee that involve hooking up arduino machines to the internet to turn intangible data into tangible effects and vice versa.
After the watershed Alex McLean and Sam Aaron will double-head a live musical-visual coding jam, improvising an electronic soundtrack of beats and beeps to get the robots and humans dancing. Glo-sticks (optional) not provided.
Our contributers tonight are part of the Psychology of Programming WIP conference that is happening on Monday and Tuesday. It's throughly recommended if you can make it.
Come along to learn more about maker technologies, show'n'tell your inventions, work on projects together and share skills. Doors open at 6.30pm, sparks fly from 7pm.
